Gaspare De Pascali, born in 1988, is one of the new talents in Italian cinema. His set designs are becoming the benchmark for leading Italian and international directors, and his vision of color and set construction are an unmistakable hallmark of his style. Born in Lecce, he grew up and trained first in Ravenna and then in Bologna, continuing his studies in Melbourne, Australia. Upon returning to Italy, he began a fruitful collaboration with the world of cinema. His first film as a set designer was Giancarlo Maione's 2015 film Hybris. In 2019, he began his collaboration with Indigo Film, designing the set for Bentornato Presidente, directed by Stasi and Fontana. His art takes him beyond cinema, working for Netflix on the hit TV series Summertime, and for Amazon Prime on The Bad Guy, directed by Stasi and Fontana. He recently designed the set for the feature film Primavera, directed by Damiano Michieletto, the set for the international TV series Concordia produced by Frank Doelger, Fabio Grassadonia and Antonio Piazza's latest film Iddu, presented in competition at the 81st Venice International Film Festival, and Pietro Marcello's new film Duse, currently in post-production.
