ENRICO MARIA ARTALE
Director
He graduated in Philosophy and obtained a diploma in film directing from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia. He has written and directed numerous short films, including Il respiro dell’arco, which was presented at the Locarno Film Festival and won the Nastro d’Argento award in 2012. In 2013, he presented his first feature film, Il terzo tempo (distributed by Universal Pictures) in the Orizzonti section at the Venice Film Festival, where it won the Pasinetti Award for Best Debut Film. In 2016, he made the documentary film Saro, which was presented in competition at the 34th Torino Film Festival and won the Best Italian Documentary Award, and was subsequently nominated for the David di Donatello Award for Best Documentary. In 2023, he presented his second feature film, El Paraìso (distributed by IWonder Pictures), at the Venice Film Festival, in competition in the Orizzonti section. The film won three awards: Best Screenplay, Best Actress, and Best Italian Film from the parallel jury of young people. He has worked on international television series, directing numerous episodes for Studiocanal, SKY, and CANAL+.
